V P SHUNT OR CSF SHUNT
A ventrialoperitoneal (VP) shunt is a medical procedure that relieves the pressure caused by the excess Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) collected in the ventricles of the brain. This excess CSF condition is called hydrocephalus. VP shunt procedure drains the excess CSF by creating an alternate pathway.
