Bone scan-99m Tc-MDP This procedure is used to detect primary and metastatic bone lesions, osteoid osteoma (a benign bone tumor), facet joint arthropathy,  avascular necrosis, metabolic bone disease and Paget's Fibrous Dysplasia. It is also used to evaluate the prosthetic for infection/loosening and check the viability of a bone graft.
