Medical Visa
A foreign national seeking medical treatment at recognised hospitals or treatment centres in India should possess a valid passport and a medical visa. The candidate is allowed to bring a maximum of two companions who are blood relatives under separate Medical companion visas. The validity of a companion's visa will be the same as the patient Medical visa.
What are the documents required to apply?
- A copy of your passport.
- A recent passport size photo.
- Proof of Residential Address.
- Recommendation from home country doctor to avail a particular treatment.
- Medical documents of the treatments that are done.
- Proof of required funds.
- Passport copy of companion (for Attendant visas).
- Proof of relationship with your companion (for Attendant visas).
- A credit/debit card or Paypal account.
What are some other things to remember?
- Your passport should have at least six months validity from the date of arrival in India, and two blank pages.
- The applicant should carry a copy of the Indian visa along with him/her at the time of travel.
- The Indian Medical e-Visa can be used a maximum of three times in a calendar year i.e. between January and December.
- The Indian Medical e-Visa is valid for 120 days after issue. You can enter India on any date within this period.
- The visa holder can stay in the territory of the country for no more than 60 calendar days.
- Nationals of Yellow Fever affected countries must carry a yellow fever vaccination card at the time of arrival in India.
- Applicants must arrive using the same passport with which they applied for the Medical e-Visa.
How much does it cost?
A Government fee is charged in accordance with the Indian government policies. In addition to the government fee, Medwalk charges a service fee for making the process easier and helping the candidate avail the medical visa at the earliest.
